Most of you will already have met Gemma, but for our newbie crafters here's a few questions to get to know her:

- What’s your favourite biscuit & hot drink to have during a workshop at Lark?

A cup of tea and Chocolate Oatie (i.e. a fake Hobnob.. haha!)

- What is your go to playlist or song to play during a Lark Workshop?

During the day I listen to BBC Radio 2 or 6, then by night I like to play a lot of chilled indie songs

- Apart from Gwen, what’s your fave thing about the studio?

I love the light that pours in through the front windows and that no 2 days are ever the same!

- What are you working on at the moment?

I am working on LOADS of new workshops this month as I have given myself a month off teaching to focus on tufting and enjoying organizing big events for you all!

Here's Caroline who is running her new knitting workshops, plus has been helping run children’s crafts workshops along with Gemma & helping us all out in the studio too! 🤩

I’m knitting some yellow ducklings!

Next up is Sarah who runs the Next Level Crochet workshops here at Lark 🧶

Here's a few questions to get to know her:

- What’s your favourite biscuit & hot drink to have during a workshop at Lark?

My favourite biscuit has got to be a custard cream with a nice cuppa tea (1 sugar) - If I'm feeling particulary groovy I'll go for a hot apple squash

- What is your go to playlist or song to play during a Lark Workshop?

I usually go for some 80’s music or a feel good playlist, always helps the crochet along with some good tunes

- What are you working on at the moment? ng about the studio?

The atmosphere here is just lush & the community that’s here too! Plus the yarn wall - cant forget that!

-What are you working on at the moment?

Ahhh I’ve got some new crochet workshops that will be released over the summer months! So excited for these! I really want to expand my crochet techniques into different types of crochet, tunsian, tapestry, mosaic & also wearables! Keep an eye out

✨Meet Bethan✨

What’s your favourite biscuit & hot drink to have during a workshop at Lark?

I love shortbread, and I think they're made extra tasty by the fact that we don't always have them in. Feels like a treat on a shortbread day haha! And a giant mug of peppermint tea 😍

What is your go to playlist or song you play during a Lark Workshop?

I'm all about the chilled vibes as we do slow crafts, so my go to playlist is Spotify's Acoustic & Folk Mix 🎻

Apart from Gwen, what’s your favourite thing about the studio? 😉

I love getting to see all of the different creations from workshops across a week, and getting tempted by all the beaut things the tutors have stocked in the shop!

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm currently having a lot of fun dreaming up some new workshops for the year - think needle felted landscapes, pumpkins and penguins; whittling teaspoons and foxes; lino printed house portraits - the list is growing and suggestions are always welcome!!

Say Hi to Beth of @wiremakercardiff who has been supporting Lark and offering lush wire workshops from our very early days in our little Roath studio, she always has a big smile on her face and is a big outdoors fan

My fav biscuit would be a classic bourbon biscuit & a coffee.

Its such a super inspiring creative space:)

4.What are you working on at the moment?

I'm working on a couple commissions, one for a wedding & one for a big birthday.Also planning on some workshops I'll be doing at Lark :)

Next up is Em of @emelye james creative studio who runs the super popular, fun & colourful polymer clay workshops here at Lark 😍

Here's a few things about her:

1.What’s your favourite biscuit & hot drink to have during a workshop at Lark?

Always a cup of tea that I'll let go cold because I'm yakking too much! And any biscuit with chocolate, obvs.

2.What is your go to playlist or song you play during a Lark Workshop?

P!NK is my go to guilty pleasure.

3.Apart from Gwen, what’s your favourite thing about the studio? 😉

Love that Lark is a home from home! That and all the craft supplies that feed my creative addictions!

4.What are you working on at the moment?

I'm just getting back into silversmithing this week. So far, I've cut my finger twice but made a B-E-A-utiful new ring that I'm so excited about! I'm also mid way through crocheting some planets for my little boys bedroom!

5. How is it best for people to find out what you are up to and what workshops/new products you have going on?

You can always check out my stories on Instagram for anything new going on! I've got a few new workshops including polymer clay crochet hooks & floral canes that are so fun!

✨Meet Louise ✨

Say Hi to Louise, we know Louise as during her last year of Uni she lived 20 yards from the studio and held a weekly meet-up for the Cardiff University Embroidery Society at the studio. She's now graduated and working full time but is such a huge advocate of the studio and all things crafting, she enjoys writing our newsletter (which is fab as it fries my brain-haha!) and we are just looking at dates for a visible mending workshop - Louise did some last year and they were fab, so watch this space!

Chocolate hobnob and not hot drink for me, apple squash always

2.What is your go to playlist or song you play during a Lark Workshop?

Depends on the mood- I love a pop classics playlist for a party or indie chill for a workshop

3.Apart from Gwen, what’s your favourite thing about the studio? 😉

I love that no matter how often I’m there I always spot something new on the walls or shelves

4.What are you working on at the moment?

I’m currently in the planning studies of a machine sewn dress and a crochet cardigan although I have a lot of half finished random projects on the go at all times 😬

Here's a few question to get to know her:

- What’s your favourite biscuit & hot drink to have during a workshop at Lark?

My favourite biscuit is a hobnob (because it's a PROPER biscuit, and it's not messing about), and to drink I have to resign myself to water. I always get carried away with the make and helping people find the perfect stamp, and any lovely cup of tea I make goes cold!

- What is your go to playlist or song to play during a Lark Workshop?

I use a playlist called Happy Songs usually. It's full of upbeat classics to put everyone at ease and in a good mood.

- Apart from Gwen, what’s your fave thing about the studio?

My favourite thing about the studio is that it's a melting pot of lots of crafts. And it always makes me feel like I can have a lot of fun giving any craft a go.

- What are you working on at the moment?

At the moment I'm doing loads of summery designs for new hearts - think beaches and sunshine!

I love crafting because it's creative, personal, and makes me happy.

I love making videos showing you some of the workshop and am hoping to get into crochet, lets see what we can make!

This is the last of our tutor intro's although we'd love to do one about @berniebird_makes , our talented weaving tutor but she's been a busy bee of late with her 2 little ones and working full time but fingers crossed it won't be long until I get the exciting ping of an email with some weaving workshop dates from her 😉

We also need to say a special Hiya to Rhi of @knottibooth who is always up for crafty get togethers but is also busy sharing her love of Science through the fabulous @sparklab_cymru
