FAQ’s

  • How is Gwen (our studio dog) with children?

  • Gwen loves absolutely everyone, she never jumps up and very rarely barks, she generally greets everyone on arrival with a gentle lick on the hand if it’s offered and then goes to sleep on one of her 2 studio sofa’s.! At lunch time she never tries to eat your food and loves a belly rub from the kids before sleeping for the rest of the afternoon, sometimes this is done under the craft table which the kids love. Basically she’s the perfect dog for any child who has any fear of dogs, she’s almost too perfect as most kids want a dog like Gwen by the end of the day! If you want to know more about Gwen please click HERE or pop by during our shop hours to meet her if you’d like your child to meet her before booking or joining our craft clubs.

  • Is early drop off or late pick up available?

  • We can occasionally arrange this, depending on what we have on before or after the club. If we can arrange it we would organise an independent craft activity and supervision for a small charge. Please contact Gemma on larkdesignmake@gmail.com with the times and dates and we can try and make a plan.

  • What does my child need to bring to the craft club?

  • All materials for the craft workshops will be provided unless stated in the advertising and we’d also email if we needed you to bring anything in particular

  • The only thing they will need to bring is a packed lunch & a water bottle

  • My child is older or younger than the specified age group, can they attend?

  • We tailor the workshops to the specific age groups and as the age range is quite varied anyway we generally find it doesn’t work when we allow younger or older attendees to join, it changes the group dynamic and teaching we have to do. We are open to hearing from you via email if you feel your child would fit in the age group but we will cancel bookings if we find they have been made for ages outside the specified age group without prior consent.

  • Can I stay and watch the workshop?

  • This is not possible, we find that children do not gain the most from the experience if their parent is present, we can assure you that they are in safe hands and you will enjoy returning at the end of the day to see what they have created. Our workshop space in Cathays is welcoming and friendly and our instructors are DBS checked.

  • Are the tasks suitable for boys and girls?

  • Yes, we ensure all the activities offered would be enjoyed by boys and girls and we have a huge range of fabrics and materials to ensure everyone makes something that matches their personality & style.
