Are you searching for a unique Party idea in Cardiff?
Lark Design Make runs all sorts of celebrations including Hen do’s for women - and men - who love a glass of fizz, a good natter and the chance to get crafty!
Your hen party can be held at our Cardiff studio - in Cathays - we can host groups from 6 to 22 people
All parties are 2.5 hours and typically range from £30-£40 per person
We have chosen crafts that we feel work well for a mixed group but we are open to offering crafts that you may have seen on our social media recently.

Benefits of a Lark Party…
There are many great things about having a hen party with us, one of the main ones is that you can bring alcoholic drinks & snacks for your short break time. There are lots of great food and drink options nearby for before or after your craft activity.
We also try and keep the event nice and simple for you, this includes us having a simple booking system, offering a really inviting studio space, decorating the studio with colourful bunting for your special occasion, providing hot drinks and most importantly offering crafts that we know work well with any group.
How to book a Lark party…
Step 1 : Complete the enquiry form below we will reply with our availability within 2 days
Step 2 : If we are available to host your party we will send a link to pay a £50 deposit to secure the date
Step 3 : Once the deposit is received we will get all the crafty materials ready for you and will be in touch again just over a week before your event to confirm final numbers, we will then send a final invoice which should be paid 7 days before the event.

Events elsewhere
We occasionally bring our crafts to you, we have done hen parties in bars & homes, we do have much less availability for these events as it takes much longer for us to prepare and travel to these events, there may be an additional cost to cover travel.
These are all perfect for all and provide time for a nice long break and lots of time to chat as you craft..
Floral or 1920s Headbands & Customised Sashes
A fun and easy to follow craft, it’s great for those heading out for the evening afterwards ;)
Everyone makes a colourful floral headband or Gatsby Style headband and then gets to iron on letters to a selection of sash ribbons

Macramé
Plant hangers are a great beginners macrame and you get to create something useful plus it’s a nice keepsake from your day!
We also have some other macrame projects available but we really think those are only suitable if everyone knows a little macrame already.
Door Mat Paining
A great way to unleash your creativity and make your own personalised door mats to welcome your guests!
You may need to consider how you will get them home if going out straight after your party but we can help you come up with a plan if this is what you fancy doing ;-)
Paint along
These parties are fun if you are a seasoned artist or if you haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school as no experience is necessary - just paint, drink and have fun with your friends.
You will learn to paint an original picture using acrylic paints on a canvas with step-by-step instructions. You can choose a painting theme e.g. pets, tropical sunsets etc, click HERE to a Disney themed party we did recently, we also did a Tenby scene for a recent hen party which is the couples favourite place - sweet!
We’ll provide you with everything you need to unleash your inner artist.
New Hen Party painting option…
Unleash your creativity and decorate some canvases, which you will then use as a background for some outlines you can transfer onto your canvas that we’ll provide for you! From the bride’s husband-to-be to some fab body part outlines, just let us know what you would like to do ;)

Polymer Accessories
Our polymer jewellery tutor Em of @emelyejamescreativeworkshop offers this fun session which is great for all as she will share her top tips for making impressive jewellery. You will be able to make, cure and assemble a couple of pieces during the workshop so you can all make pieces to match your outfits. You will also have time to make a couple of extra pieces that can be taken home and popped in a home oven to cure after the event.
Life Drawing*
*Only available for groups of 10 or more
Big laughs for all & a hen night to be remembered!
The ultimate hen night activity, we have a great male model and art tutor, the session includes a variety of art techniques and games

Hand Stamping
Join Bec of @rebeccadaviesjewellery to learn the art of metal-stamping.
During the party, you will make two personalised, hand-stamped metal keyrings or bookmarks.
She'll walk you through designing and making them, and you'll have a choice of over 75 shapes and symbols as well as alphabets and numbers to decorate your piece before adding your choice of charms or tassels to finish them off.
All take 2.5 hours which includes a 30 minute break, these crafts all allow for plenty of time to chat as you craft too..
6 - 10 attendees = £35 per person
11+ attendees = £30 per person
Lipstick & Lip balm Making *
An easy and impressive process so great for a mixed age/craft ability group!
Everyone gets to make 4 lipsticks and 6 lip balms, lots of choices of colours, scents & packaging

Candle Making *
Easy & super relaxing, therefore suitable for all ages & craft interests!
Make 2 large candles & 4 tea lights, all will be using a fresh batch of soya wax so they can be in unique colours, fragrances and they can be decorated with an array of dried ingredients.

Cactus Candles *
We have a fun twist to our classic candle making workshops where you’ll be able to decorate your candles with some beautiful cactuses

Ceramics
Quil of @loveandlovelier offers several ceramic workshops at the studio most popular for a hen party is the mini bunting option as you make one set each and one extra set as a team for the bride to be.
Please note they will need to be fired and glazed so will be ready for collection or to be posted to one address around 2 weeks after the event.
Paper Flower Making
Our paper flower tutor Cat of @paperandpetaluk offers a range of different flowers making workshops at Lark. Here is her amazing Giant Flower workshop - the makes could make amazing decor for the big day!! She also offers smaller options of very realistic and intricate flowers such as making a daffodil or icelandic poppy. Cat is a brilliant tutor so these flowers are achievable by all.
Foiled Footwear*
Our fab new workshop is perfect for a party as you can all make your shoes sparkle before your big night out using our fab foils!
Everyone would need to provide their own leather/pleather shoes or ankle high boots, and you will get to totally customise them which would take the full 2.5hrs
Please note a final layer of varnish needs to be applied and left to dry for 30mins once they are finished…
Option 1 : would be to do this step back at your airbnb/hotel etc (we would provide everything you needed and it is very easy to apply)
Option 2 : if you would prefer to do this at the studio you could hire the studio for an extra hour for £50 and in that time you could also have time for extra drinks/play party games etc…

Mosaic coasters
Suitable for craft fans
Make a pair of round or square coasters using stunning matt pastel tiles.
The grouting will be done at home but you will take home an easy to follow kit and all the supplies needed.
Soap Making*
You'll create 5 melt & pour soaps, there will be a large range of moulds, natural ingredients, scents, pigments and essential oils. There will also be time to package your soaps. This workshop is a very fun creative session where every make is totally unique and gift worthy ;-) This event is popular with family groups.

Kinusaiga Art
For a thoroughly chilled party you could learn the beautiful Japanese craft of Kinusaiga. You’ll be guided through the basics of Kinusaiga as you craft a beautiful fabric landscape from our huge sustainable range of fabrics.
Please note this session will need to be longer than our usual parties at 3hrs and even then some attendees may have not finished but will be able to take everything they need to complete it at home
Deep frames and mounts available at an additional £10 per person on the day
All take 2.5 hours which includes a 15 minute break, these crafts require a little more teaching that the ‘fun for all’ crafty options but there will still be time to chat as you craft too…
6 - 10 attendees = £40 per person
11+ attendees = £35 per person
Keepsake Silver Jewellery Parties
We have 3 fab silver jewellery tutors at the studio - @rebeccadaviesjewellery, @emelyejamescreativeworkshop & @louiserobertsjewellery - they all specialise in different silver workshops from silver clay, silversmithing & wax carving.
