In 2025 we had a fabulous time making the Gingerbread blanket over 7 fortnightly sessions - to get the blanket done took A LOT of homework between sessions and not many were finished by Christmas despite everyone starting in September, the problem is that the festive season is such a busy time and the border alone on this giant blanket is a whopping 13,000 stitches, so that's a lot to do when you have a lot of other things to do aye!
We therefore have decided to start the Gingerbread blanket in FEBRUARY in 2026 - giving you 10 months of pacing your self through the 7 taught sessions (with 3 months off in the summer months) and lots of additional crafty catch up's inbetween the taught sessions (£5 a session and bookable seperately nearer the time) if you need extra help or just want to be held accountable for your ongoing homework ;-) This slower pace will also mean that it is suitable for those newer to crochet (but definately NOT for total beginners - you'll need to join a Learn to Crochet session at least a couple of weeks before the start date)
We will be guiding you through the @lottieandalbert pattern made for @sirdarknits Crochet along (CAL) from 2024, in addition to the pattern and videos they have produced we have produced an amazing PICTOGRAM guide where we have drawn every step of the blanket to make it much easier to follow, we will also be breaking down all the stages with in class demos and have also made some tweaks to the original pattern to simplify some of the trickier elements.
The course is £85 for 7 taught sessions it will include printed resources and refreshments but does not include the yarn. We will be putting together a Stylecraft DK special version of the yarn pack which will be £30 for 15 balls of yarn. We will be totally up for you editing the yarn packs if there are a couple of colours you wish to change or can even help you do a totally different colourway. More about this will be in the booking confirmation email.
The dates are a bit random but are all on a Wednesday, we hope to offer a daytime (1-3pm) and evening (6.30-8.30pm) session so we are open to you joining either time after week 1 but please book the time you are more likely to join so we have accurate numbers -
25th February
25th March
22nd April
20th May
(break for summer)
23rd September
21st October
18th November
We hope you are as excited as we are! This is going to be great laugh which will last the whole year, yay!
