This is a 1 day workshop starting at 9.15am and finishing around 5pm, Hot drinks and biscuits will be available throughout the day, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch of there are many food places nearby including Greggs.

Asmaa and Fauve will show you how to make the perfect summer dress, which can be made in a range of fabrics to act as a beach cover up, lunch time staple or fancy evening dress.

The pattern is being provided by Emporia Patterns and all notions such as interfacing and equipment will be provided. As the pattern has no fastenings it allows for a looser style fit and is aimed at beginner dress makers. Students will be informed in advance of sizing and material length to be able to provide their own material to suit their tastes. We will however provide links to some of our recommended fabrics to ease those who may not know where to start!

It is hoped that each student will walk away with a finished dress however this is not guaranteed should those need more time as they are a .. conscious sewer.

Sewing level - beginner dress makers + (ability to thread a machine essential)

Skills you will learn:

1.     Lining a bodice

2.     Inseam pocket insertion

3.     Sleeve insertion

What will be provided:

1.     Penelope dress pattern (this will be collected/posted before the workshop so you can cut your pattern pieces before arrival - more info to come after booking)

2.     Interfacing

3.     Sewing tools including scissors, rotary cutters, cutting matt, pins.

4.     Sewing machine/overlocker/iron

What you need to bring with you:

1.     Fabric

2.     Matching thread

3. A basic sewing kit

4. Your sewing machine but we have some at the studio if this is not possible.
