Beginners Sewing: Patchwork cushion

  • Lark Design Make, Cardiff (map)

Beginners Sewing

Everyone can sew!

Get to know how to use a sewing machine & catch the sewing bug in this fun beginners workshop. This workshop is suitable for those who are total first timers to using a sewing machine but is also suitable for those who are looking for a refresher or want to get to know their sewing machine.

You will learn how to wind a bobbin, thread a machine, sew in a straight line & change direction, plus we will go through lots of basic maintenance and top tips.

You will make a simple envelope cushion complete with a patchwork design. We have sewing machines for everyone but we would highly recommend bringing your own if you have one as then you can get used to its functions. The workshop includes all materials but feel free to bring some fabric (not stretchy) if you'd like your makes to perfectly match your home.

For weekend workshops we open a couple of parent and child pair tickets for parents with children over 7 to make a cushion together. We are also open to crafty kids over 11 joining and we will take contact details upon drop off.

All our workshops include refreshments.

This workshop is taught by Gemma of Lark, if you have any questions you can contact her at larkdesignmake@gmail.com
