We have been running events like yours for over 8 years and have developed these FAQ’s from this experience so we’d be grateful if you took a look over them as they are likely to help you plan a great event ;-)

Food & Drink

At events hosted at our sister studio Lark include teas, coffee, water, squash and biscuits (we always have alternative milks too)

You are welcome to bring some additional food & drinks (including alcoholic drinks) but please note that you only get a few mins when you arrive and a short break just over half way through your event...

We therefore ask that you just bring enough drinks for 2 drinks per person (1 prosecco bottle serves 6 glasses) and only bring simple snacks like crisps and dips or cupcakes.

Nearby recommended food & drinks venues

Lark has some great local businesses who would be able to host you for lunch or dinner after your visit, Lark keeps the following BLOG updated with their favourite options..

Parking…

Lark is in a student area with mostly residential parking nearby - there is cheap paid parking 2 mins away (which is free after 6pm) you’ll find out more on the following page which would be great if you could also please share with your guests if you are arriving separately - www.larkdesignmake.co.uk/contact-cardiff-craft-workshop

Lark uses the side entrance on Robert Street which is very easy to quickly pull up by if you do need to drop off food etc before finding a space.

We are very easy to find on Google Maps

Can we arrive early?

Please aim to arrive NO EARLIER THAN 10 MINUTES before the start time of your event. The studio is a busy place, we often have several workshops and events happening each day and our tutors need the time to prepare everything.

Click HERE for our blog which includes some ideas on what to do locally if you end up arriving early

Will Gwen, the studio dog, be at the Lark studio during the event?

Gwen is at the Lark studio most days so very well may be there for your event, she is super lovely and just chills on her chair! We have a webpage all about her that you might want to share with any guests who might be nervous of dogs - www.larkdesignmake.co.uk/gwen

Refreshments…

Our events in other venues do not include refreshments but we are happy for drinks and light snacks to be available during your creative session with us but we ask that substantial breaks for food and drinks and planned around our visit as we will always have a lot to demonstrate during the session and will need all participants involvement for the full session.

Venue requirements…

We will typically need a chair for everyone with a decent amount of table space in front of them, we usually always need one extra table space for all the crafting materials to be displayed. We will let you know if a different set up is needed.

We will generally need to arrive 30mins before the guests to get set up. We may move the tables around a bit but we would ask that they were roughly set up (not stacked)

We will need up 15-30mins again after the workshop to pack away, it would be great if you could factor the set up and pack down into your event planning as this is always much easier if the attendees are not all still sat at the tables during these times.

Parking…

We are always grateful if we are able to park nearby so we can bring in our resources, or if parking is not available if we can pull up for a moment to drop off stuff and information is given regarding nearby parking.
